- Persin Toxicity: Avocados contain persin, a fungicidal toxin that’s primarily concentrated in the pit, skin, and leaves. While dogs are less sensitive to persin than other animals, it can still cause problems in large amounts
- Choking Hazard: The pit is a severe choking risk and can cause intestinal blockage
