Loki loves human and all the other animals.
He is smart and kno
ws exactly how to act charming.
He forgets the bad memories easily and quickly
On the other hand,
Loki’s hyperactive, stubborn, lack of concentration, reactive, the dog with zero obedience.
He tries to eat many things from the ground, attempts to jump into running trucks on the street.
Not only trucks he is reactive to, he is visually and audible to many other things.
Yes, I would like to talk about the problems and what we are going to solve in this article.
I know there are many who has same problem as us, even worse or luckily little better.
We all need to admit that we somehow are watching other well trained and calm dogs on Instagram or Youtube videos questioning ‘Why our dog is not like this?’
Our purpose should not be becoming like other perfect dogs, since every dogs has different personalities.
Why are you so serious about training?
Let him be himself. He is just young and he will learn by himself.
Yes, I am really serious and honestly a little bit jealous about the perfect dogs from Instagram. Most importantly, no one should suffer to have a happy life with this guy. This is very important. Wonder who suffers? Let me prioritise. – Other people who we meet at least once in a life time in the public.

Public Responsibility
For him to enjoy better life in this society, he does not even need to be welcomed but at least not get hatred. We all should know that there are many people who don’t like dogs as well. Of course, being welcomed would be the best.
Whenever we go on a trip, we cannot enjoy the atmosphere and need to say sorry to all the people who are bothered and irritated by Loki. When we went camping, he escaped from the tent and wandered around all camping area waking up all calmly sleeping dogs. I got scolded by some people and had to apologise. Could barking and biting dogs be easily welcomed and freely walk on the public street? I just wish he can calmly walk around the street not making other people frown.
I think training a dog is like properly disciplining a child to be harmonised in the society. It’s the responsibility.
Loki’s stress
What about Loki? He is suffering even more both physical and phycological ways.
His body reacts directly to the noise and his heart starts pounding. When he is stressed by the surroundings, he whines and rubs his head here and there.
Those are obvious reason that he is so stressed. He in the end cannot sleep with this. Lack of sleep makes him crazy again. This vicious circle make us all exhausted. It means when dogs are not disciplined, they also suffer.
Then some people might choose these compromises:
- ‘Let’s not go outside’
- ‘Only short leash when we go for a walk’
- ‘We do not go on a vacation’
- ‘We just need to watch a youtube of well trained dogs going to beautiful places with their friendly dogs.’
We thought of it. But are we happy with it?
No.
As I mentioned above, I don’t want to set too high goals like the perfect dogs on social networks. When the bond and trust are build between Loki and us, he will rely more on us anywhere anyhow. He would not be so afraid and reactive to any atmosphere.
It wouldn’t be easy
Yes, we know.
What we are going to focus on first is not letting Loki to have any physical and phycological stress.
Since Loki’s our precious family member, we are training and structuring everyday, even it takes longer time than we expected, we are very sure that almost all of this bad behavior will be improved sooner or later.
So are we. We are learning everyday try to train ourselves as well.
It is really hard to ignore or not touch him when he tries to get a attention from us.
It is so tempting.
